First black Blossomtime Queen joins 2013 parade

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. --  Margaret Williams made history in 1941, becoming the first black woman to ride in the Blossomtime Parade as a Queen.

Saturday marked the 107th Blossomtime Parade to run through St. Joseph and Benton Harbor.

This year, Williams joined the current queens in the parade.

Williams says that her experience in this year's parade taught her so much about just how far society has come in the last seven decades.
