First-ever 'Community and Career Fun Fair' for New Prairie United School Corporation

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -New Prairie United School Corporation announced its first-ever "Community and Career Fun Fair", set to take place on Thursday, May 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at New Prairie Middle School.

Organizers say the event is open to students, parents, and community members looking to explore a wide range of career opportunities and community resources.

Attendees will be offered an opportunity to engage with local businesses, higher education institutions, and community organizations.

School officials say the event aims to "inspire students by showcasing diverse career paths and the skills needed to excel in today’s dynamic job market."

There will be interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, and presentations scheduled throughout the day, designed for all ages and interests.

Students in grades K through 12 will attend the fair with their classes during the school day and may return for the evening session with their families to enjoy additional exhibitors, free food, inflatables, games, and prize drawings.

“We are thrilled to bring the Community and Career Fun Fair to our district for the first time and provide the opportunity for all of our students to participate in community and career exploration activities,” said Tara White, Director of College, and Career Readiness at NPUSC. “This event not only supports our mission to provide high levels of learning for all students but also strengthens the ties between our schools and the supportive and vibrant community around us.”

The fair is free and open to the public.

Exhibitors will be offering summer job opportunities, career options for adults and for students preparing to graduate, and registrations for summer programming and activities for all ages.
