Doctors are asking the family to keep their daughter in isolation, because more tests are needed to be conducted to officially confirm the diagnosis.
Doctor Richard Tooker of the Allegan County Health Department says while this is unfortunate, this is a good opportunity to teach others about the deadly disease.
The 15-month-old girl lives with other children, but they have been vaccinated and do not attend school.
According to the health department's medical director, the public shouldn't be nervous about this possible case.
