Fisherman finds Great White shark on Massachusetts beach
WESTPORT, Mass. -- A Massachusetts fisherman caught more than he bargained for when he came face to face with a Great White shark.
The dead shark washed ashore on a Westport Beach.
The sharked weighed in at 1600 pounds and measure 13 feet.
Scientists are curious as to why it ended up on the beach.
And the fisherman who discovered the shark is just as curious.
"It made your adrenaline go a little bit because, you know, he's stone dead, but my God. This thing is just... that's just Jaws written all over it," Gary Severa said.
There are no signs of trauma on the shark.
Scientists say they will be studying its stomach to see what it was eating and they will also examine the shark's backbone to find out how old it was.
