Five Notre Dame players selected for All-ACC Softball Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Notre Dame’s softball team had five players named to the 2022 All-ACC Softball Academic Team.

Shannon Becker, Emma Clark, Alexis Holloway, Abby Sweet, and Payton Tidd all earned the academic recognition for the Fighting Irish this season.

For Becker and Tidd, this is their first honor, while Clark, Holloway, and Sweet each received their third All-ACC Academic honors.

Becker, a freshman political science major, started 12 games as a pitcher, leading the team with a 1.71 ERA in 90 innings and striking out 73 hitters.

Clark, a senior majoring in accountancy, started all 52 games in right field and led the team with 67 hits this season.

Holloway, a graduate student, struck out a team high 98 hitters and held opponents to a .212 batting average, all while earning her management degree this year.

Sweet, another graduate student and 2021 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, played all 52 games in center field and led the team with 55 runs scored.

Tidd, a senior who completed her degree in psychology during the season, pitched in a team high 32 games for a total of 130 innings and earned a 15-5 overall record with two saves.
