This comes almost a year after Sherfick was charged with Child Exploitation, a Level 4 Felony, and 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 5 Felony.

Sherfick's new charges stem from an incident which occurred on July 21, 2022.

Documents state on or about July 21, 2022, the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office received a report that a 7-year-old had been molested by Sherfick.

The following contains information some may find disturbing.

A witness, working as a behavioral therapist at the facility where victim was receiving care, told authorities Sherfick, who also worked at the facility, entered the playroom with the victim.

Sherfick then allegedly sat the victim down on his lap. The victim was Sherfick's client.

The witness was in the playroom at one side with her client, while Sherfick and the victim were on the other.

The witness said every time the victim moved, Sherfick would grab his hips and pull him back onto his lap.

The victim is completely non-verbal according to case documents. The witness stated Sherfick also put his hand down the victim's pants and his other in his own pants.

The witness added that while Sherfick was touching himself, she was able to see his genitals.

The witness then made eye contact with Sherfick, at which point he stopped. The witness immediately reported the incident to her supervisor.
