Former Notre Dame running back John Panelli dies at 85

ROYAL OAK, Mich. -- A legendary Notre Dame football player has died.
John Panelli died Friday, March 2 at his home in Royal Oak Michigan. Panelli played running back and helped lead Notre Dame to three straight undefeated seasons back in the late 1940's.
He went on to play for the Detroit lions. He was 85-years-old.
