BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The death of the man whose body was found at a home in the 500 block of Pavone Thursday does not appear to be suspicious, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

Officers with the BHDPS responded to a call for assistance from the Michigan Department of Corrections.

While checking the residence, officers located the body of a 24-year-old man.

The preliminary investigation indicates it was not a suspicious death, police said.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
