Founders Week Festival brings crowds young and old out to the carousel

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- In St. Joseph, they are remembering their fore fathers, this week, for the city's 3rd Annual Founders Week Festival.

Monday was Seniors Day during the week-long festival.

Anyone 65 years or older got free rides and popcorn at teh Silver Beach Carousel.

It might sound a bit strange for senior citizens to take a ride, but staff there told us you would be surprised.

"We’ve had people from like five days old to 105. So we’ve had all age ranges and everyone is welcome," said Martin Dixon, a carousel volunteer.

The festival is for all ages too. Tuesday is Kiddies Day. Children can take $1 rides on the carousel.
