Four-vehicle crash in Elkhart County, one driver cited
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the area of S.R. 19 and C.R. 46 around 4:41 p.m., Wednesday, regarding a four-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2016 Dodge Ram Van, driven by 63-year-old Johnathan Smith of South Bend, was traveling north on S.R. 19.
Authorities say Smith was following a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Pavankumar Kasireddy of Elkhart, too closely when he rear-ended the Elantra.
Kasireddy was then pushed into a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 21-year-old McKenna Collier of Middlebury.
Kasireddy then crossed the center line into the southbound lanes, striking a 2010 Ford Flex, driven by 52-year-old Janette Taylor of Warsaw.
Kasireddy suffered minor scrapes.
Colliar had complaints of right shoulder pain and Talyor suffered airbag burns.
Smith was cited for following too closely.
Nobody was taken to the hospital.
All drivers were wearing seatbelts except for Taylor.
