ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Humane Society of Elkhart County announced it will have free adoptions for three days starting on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The other two days include Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, August 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, officials say you're in luck. There are numerous cats and dogs listed as available for adoption on the Humane Society's website.

Human Society officials say National Dog Day is on Monday and is a good time to find your new best friend.

Officials ask you to stop by and "don't miss out on this paw-some opportunity."
