Free rides available on the South Shore Line
The South Shore Line announced that all weekday, eastbound trips will be free for passengers from September 1 through October 31.
South Shore Line says they are offering these free rides out of appreciation for passengers that have continued to use their transportation services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Passengers will remain responsible to pay for tickets on the weekends and for all westbound travel.
Any travelers going east on weekdays will be able to simply board the South Shore Line without a voucher or a ticket.
All passengers will be expected to follow the mask requirement in place that is in effect through January 18.
Certain passengers are exempt from the mask mandate, including passengers with health issues and children under the age of 2.
