Free summer fitness classes Saturday on the Gridiron in South Bend


SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The DTSB Summer Fitness Series continues on the Gridiron, Saturday, July 6, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with local certified instructors leading the classes.

Organizers say classes take place every Saturday morning on the Gridiron until August 31.

Yoga starts at 8 a.m., Zumba at 9 a.m., and other fitness classes like Grit, Barre, Hip Hop, and more at 10 a.m.

The free classes are available with support from Beacon Health and Fitness, Physician's Health Plan, Trayam Dermatology, Stretch Lab, and Michiana's fitness instructors.

Participants are asked to dress in appropriate clothing and footwear and bring adequate fluids.

Organizers add the Summer Fitness Food and Personal Item drive for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana is back as well.

Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods, non-perishables, or personal items, and collection bins will be available each week for the duration of summer.

There is free parking available on the street and in the Leighton Parking Garage.
