Frigid and more snow

ABC-57 News: The coldest temperatures so far this season arrive Thursday morning, and then another round of snow after that.

Thursday morning temperatures dive well below zero approaching -10°, factoring in the wind chill it will feel -20° to -30° (Fig 1).  A Wind Chill Warning lasts until noon Thursday. The risk of frostbite to exposed skin is high, limit your time outside during these hours.

Thursday afternoon another round of snow sweeps into Michiana. This will bring a quick burst of snow for the drive home, then lake effect snow through most of Friday, prompting a winter weather advisory (Fig 2). Similar to previous rounds, accumulation will be rather low. However the slow and steady accumulation will keep roads messy (Fig 3).

We finally break-out of this snowy pattern for the weekend and temperatures warm, slowly. Click here for the 10-day forecast
