Fugitive arrested after noise complaint

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- A man wanted on active warrants was arrested Saturday morning after police were called to a loud gathering, according to the Three Rivers Police Department.

Police were called to a townhouse at 1217 Lockport Drive to investigate a loud gathering. When they arrived, several people were seen entering apartment 105.

While speaking with the resident, one of the officers recognized one of the men present as a wanted felon with active warrants.

When officers approached the man, he attempted to run and assaulted a police officer, reports said.

Other officers helped subdue the man, while multiple people from within the apartment came outside and tried to advance on police, reports said.

Police de-escalated the situation and took the suspect into custody.

Two officers suffered minor injuries.

The suspect, a 24-year-old man from Battle Creek, is facing preliminary charges of domestic violence, three counts of resisting police and two counts of resisting police while causing injuries.
