A 21-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested after police served a search warrant at a property on 60th Avenue in Paw Paw Township.

A bench warrant was issued for a 21-year-old man who is said to have violated his probation. But now, he's in more trouble with the law

Stephen Figgs Jr., 21, and a 44-year-old woman could soon be facing drug charges in Van Buren County.

Sheriff Dale Gribler said there were suspicions that someone could be making meth on the properties that sit in the 36000 block of 60th Avenue in Paw Paw Township. On Thursday, October 9 around 3:00 p.m., sheriff's deputies along with the narcotics unit had a warrant to search the home as well as a neighboring barn.

Police said when they entered the home, the woman and Figgs were inside. Figgs was found trying to crawl out of a basement window.

He was taken into custody without incident.

As police searched the property, they found an active one-pot meth lab along with other drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects could be charged with operating or maintaining a meth lab, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.

The Van Buren County Prosecutor's office now has the case.
