Fundraiser in works for Elkhart boy shooting victim

ELKHART, Ind.-A fundraiser is now in the works for a 5-year-old Elkhart boy who was shot in the head a couple of weeks ago.


 Police say little Damaris McGhee was shot by his own uncle inside his home August 21st.The uncle, Brian Grant, is now facing gun possession charges.


The community is planning a silent auction to help the family. It will be held Saturday at Flaunt Boutique in Elkhart from 11 till 6.


A Facebook page called “Silent Auction for Damaris McGhee & Family” has also been set up for the event.


The kindergartner is recovering right now in Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
