Funeral arrangements finalized for Bethel College professor

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Funeral arrangements are finalized for the Bethel College professor who drowned Tuesday on Kirk Lake.
Visitations for Dr. Gene Carpenter will be held Friday night from 5 to 8 at an auditorium on Bethel's campus.
His funeral will be Saturday morning at 11 in the same place. Police believe Carpenter tried to swim out to his boat when it got away from him. He then drowned.
He taught theology at Bethel for 26 years.
