Funeral arrangements set for Michigan police officer killed in the line of duty

WALKER, Mich. -- Funeral arrangements  have been made for a Michigan police officer who was killed in the line of duty. 

Officer Trevor Slot was killed while police were pursing a pair of bank robbers last Thursday.  Officer Slot was laying down stop strips to try to slow down the fleeing vehicle, when the robbers intentionally ran him down.

Members from the community can pay their respects to the fallen officer and his family during a public visitation service on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Third Reformed Church.

The funeral service will be held at Resurrection Life Church in Grandville on Friday at 1 p.m.

Officer Slot will be buried at Roseland Cemetery, following a procession through Walker.

Thousands of Michigan police officers are expected to attend in honor of their fallen brother.
