Funeral services held for Bethel professor

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Saturday, the Mishawaka community remembered a beloved man and professor.
The funeral service for Doctor Eugene Carpenter was held Saturday morning on Bethel College's campus, where Carpenter taught.
He drowned last Monday on Kirk Lake.
Police think he tried swimming to his boat, but it got away from him.
Carpenter taught theology at Bethel for 26 years.
