Funnel cloud sightings in Marshall County

LAPAZ, Ind. — The heavy storms on Wednesday evening brought with it reports of funnel cloud sightings in Marshall County.

At least one funnel cloud was spotted in La Paz near the St. Joseph and Marshall County lines.

The La Paz Fire Department said that at one point all of their rigs were out on the road investigating funnel cloud sightings.

The assistant fire chief saw one of the funnel clouds.

"We watched it begin to rotate more and take more of a definitive shape," said John Knepp. "As it moved north, it was wrapped in rain and we lost sight of it. So we just tried to track the rain as best we could as it went north."

Their fleet consists of six rigs and two other emergency vehicles.
