SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A fire on Pulaski Street near Western Avenue left a garage dilapidated and smoking Wednesday afternoon.
According to South Bend Fire Battalion Chief Mark Catanzarite, firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of Pulaski Street to find a garage with flames shooting out of its roof.
No one was injured in the fire.
Catanzarite said from looking at the structure, the garage was “pretty close” to a total loss.
Investigators believe the cause of the fire was a kerosene heater being used to heat the garage.
