Gary businesses facing charges for improper food stamp purchases

GARY, Ind. — Two business store owners in Gary are facing charges involving usage of food stamps cards.
Police say they allowed customers to use their food stamp card like a normal debit card.
It wasn't just a few times. The unauthorized uses of food stamps cards between the businesses totaled around $500,000.
Customers were able to get cash back and cigarettes with their food stamps cards.
