Gas prices make dramatic drop

All over the nation gas prices are dropping.

As drivers pull up to the pump, and check out the price of gas, they're noticing a welcome trend.

Just a month ago, the national average for a gallon of gas was nearly $3.50 a gallon. Last week it dropped to $3.40 and now it's down again by nearly 14 cents from the average a month ago.

Experts said Superstorm Sandy is a major factor in bringing the prices down. They said there's plenty of gas to go around and not as much demand.

So far, one of the lowest prices we've found in Michiana is $3.19 at Murphy USA on Portage Avenue near North Bendix Drive in South Bend.
