Generator problem forces shutdown at Cook Power Plant

BRIDGMAN, Mich. -- One of the reactors at the Cook Nuclear Power Plant is in stand-by mode

A spokesman ABC57 News unit 2 shut down Monday night due to a problem with the main generator.

The Bridgman plant says the generator is a separate system from the nuclear reactor. So there are no safety concerns.

Unit 2 just returned to service Saturday after a 38-day refueling outage.
