Georgia girls suspended for piercing at school

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Some Georgia high schoolers are in trouble for getting piercings in the girls' locker room.

Four girls were suspended after getting tongue, lip and navel piercings in the girls' locker room.

One of the girls said her friend came to school with a piercing kit and offered to pierce her friends.

Family members want to know how the school could have let this happen.

"How did nobody hear nine girls in the bathroom getting pierced because I know it was quite an adventure? School officials say the locker room was unsupervised, and that's something they need to review," said Lena Harrison.

Apparently this was in part a money making venture. The teen who brought the equipment to school charged the others $5 per piercing.
