Georgia students throw racially integrated prom

WILCOX COUNTY, Ga. — For 40 years, one school in Georgia refused to put on a prom.

Usually parents would host prom-like parties for the kids, but they would be segregated by race.

This year for the first time, four girls decided to create a Facebook page to make the change into an integrated prom.

"We were doing that so we could get the word out so that some people would be in to donate and help us out with what we were doing," said Mareshia Rucker.

Nearly half the school's student body attended this historic prom.
