Giving Tuesday benefits Michiana organizations

After Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday.

Many organizations in Michiana benefit from the day, which is all about celebrating generosity and giving thanks.

One of the local organizations that gets assistance from Giving Tuesday is the Center for the Homeless in South Bend.

“We are seeing increased number of folks in need during these winter months, and we will be through the holidays and into the new year. So, to have Giving Tuesday fall when it does, it is really crucial to us to take on the additional 15 percent of folks that we will be asked to serve over the next four or five months,” says Executive Director Steve Camilleri.

Other local businesses like the Kroc Center, Real Services, and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana are taking PayPal donations on Tuesday.
