INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – 6 residents across Michiana were given Golden Hoosier Awards earlier today for the volunteer work they’ve done in their communities.
The Golden Hoosier Award is given to volunteers ages 65 or older and have been working in their communities for over 3 years. This year’s ceremony was held virtually.
“Our golden crowd of volunteers we honor today are our models of yesterday and our hope for tomorrow. You are our thriving culture of creative and passionate helpers with the determination to help your community by giving your time, your compassion and yourself,” said Jennifer Sullivan, Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Association.
A total of 23 residents across the state were recognized at the ceremony this year.
