Golf cart and pickup truck collision leaves one dead in White Pigeon Township

SAINT JOSEPH, Mich, -- At approximately 5:15 p.m., Marshall Post Troopers responded to the report of a crash involving a golf cart and a pickup truck on Lake Road near Stone Lake Road in White Pigeon Township.

The initial investigation shows that a golf cart, containing three individuals, was traveling west on Lake Road, when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck.

The driver of the golf cart, a 61-year-old resident of White Pigeon, was pronounced dead at the scene, with the two passengers being taken to Kalamazoo Bronson Hospital with serious injuries.

A 56-year-old Bronson man, the driver of the pickup truck, was taken to Three Rivers Hospital with minor injuries.

Drugs and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. 

It is unknown at this time if safety belts were worn.

This investigation remains ongoing.
