Goshen First Fridays 'Savor Summer Showcase' celebrates final summertime activities

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Downtown Goshen, Inc. announced the theme for September's Goshen First Fridays is "Savor Summer Showcase," a celebration of what summer has left to offer.

Happening Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., several businesses will participate on the music-filled streets along with live entertainment, food vendors, and kids' activities.

The family-friendly event will also have a summer-to-fall Fashion Show featuring trends supplied by downtown apparel outfitters, including Woldruff's and I M SHE.

"Once we get into the later, colder months, the program starts to change somewhat," said Director of First Fridays, Amanda Rose. "September, though, is usually still warm and mild, and the Savor Summer Showcase is a great chance to enjoy one last summertime hurrah with friends and family. This is the second year for the Savor Summer Showcase. Since our August First Fridays Picklefest event was limited by rainy conditions, some promotions from that event will carry over into September. That said, we're expecting a large and energetic crowd for the Savor Summer Showcase. We are continually thankful to our many sponsors and Downtown Goshen businesses for helping us bring these free community events to life."

The Chill Zone, presented by DJ Construction and the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County, will offer virtual reality, snacks, and lawn games to entertain teens and young adults.

The free live entertainment on the Miller Poultry Main Stage includes:

  • 5 to 6 p.m. - Shark Sugar
  • 6:30 to 7 p.m. - Fashion Show
  • 8 to 9 p.m. - Ben Wilson and the Messengers
