Goshen non-profit to host 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival Saturday

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Community Pro-Education, a non-profit in Goshen, will host Goshen's 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival at Powerhouse Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The festival aims to bring together residents from Michiana to learn about Hispanic Heritage Month and enjoy cultural dances, music, food, and relationship building.

Organizers say this year’s festival features an expanded Kids Zone with different cultural activities available for children and families to learn about Hispanic heritage and participate in activities that celebrate Hispanic culture.

Community Pro-Education has also partnered with Revolutionary Soccer Training to host the 1st World Cup Soccer tournament for children, teenagers, and adults.

Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to musical groups and be entertained by local folkloric dance groups. Performances include Goshen College Mariachi Eco, who will perform various traditional mariachi songs.

The festival will have over 80 vendors and 25 food vendors.

The festival will also feature local talent in boxing as organizers say more Latinx youth are enrolling in the sport.

Attendees will also be able to view “charros," horse riders, show their horse-riding skills and promenade in the Mexican Consulate’s “Cry for Freedom," El Grito, ceremony.

Community Pro-Education will also recognize college scholarship recipients who are enrolled in college and pursuing a higher education degree.
