Goshen police led on chase Tuesday night, man arrested for drunk driving
GOSHEN, Ind. -- Officers with the Goshen Police Department were led on a high-speed chase shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday when they attempted to make a traffic stop near Pike Street and Chicago Avenue.
"Goshen Police attempted to stop a vehicle for several traffic violations ... The vehicle fled at high speeds for a few blocks before crashing into a fence," GPD said.
The driver was identified as 21-year-old Devon Ognowski, of Goshen, and he was allegedly intoxicated as police say he failed multiple field sobriety tests.
"Devon failed field sobriety testing and refused a certified test," GPD said. "A search warrant was obtained prior to a blood draw at Goshen General Hospital."
He was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for Resisting Law Enforcement in a Vehicle and Operating While Intoxicated.
No injuries were reported.
