Goshen Recycling Center closed permanently due to misuse, financial challenges

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The City of Goshen announced it's permanently closing the Goshen Recycling Center at 802 N. Indiana Ave. following continual misuse and growing financial challenges.
City officials initially suspended operations in July following a slew of illegal dumping and improper use. Officials say staff were routinely overextended.
The city also added budget restraints tied to Indiana Senate Enrolled Act 1 influenced the decision for permanent closure.
City leaders determined the closure is the most fiscally responsible decision at this time.
