Goshen residents react to final mascot logos

Goshen High School is close to coming up with a new mascot. They are replacing the controversial Redskins mascot.

Images of the four finalists were unveiled Saturday and the voting process begins November 10.

According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, the Gladiators, Red Hawks, Spartans, and Wolf Pack are all still possibilities.

"I'll go with gladiator. It's just more intimidating, ferocious, you know, old school," said Josh Armsteade, a resident of Goshen.

The press release from Goshen Community Schools states students and staff will vote on November 10th. Students who are unable to vote will be allowed to vote on November 11th during lunch.

Alumni will be able to go to Goshen High School and vote on November 10th from noon to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 11th from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Alumni will need to provide 2 forms of ID and their graduation year.

Alumni should enter the school through Door C. Voting will be in the GHS main gym concession stand.

Unless a run-off vote is necessary, the new mascot and logo will be addressed at a special board meeting on November 16 at 6 p.m. at the GCS administration center. The only item on the agenda is the mascot.
