Goshen’s First Fridays on May 1st will be virtual

GOSHEN, Ind. – "May Day" is the theme for Goshen’s First Fridays event on May 1st, which will be held virtually, much the same as their April event. The May Day event will include activities for the whole family and also give an opportunity for people to shop locally and help out businesses and non-profits.

There will be free activities for families on their Facebook page starting at 5 o’clock.

"There will be a magic show, meditation for the whole family, and art activities for people of all ages. Then at 7 p.m., we will feature a performance by Jay Lapp of The Steel Wheels, along with some special guests!" said Adrienne Nesbitt, an event director with Eyedart Creative Studio.

"It's a virtual downtown Goshen store. Some businesses have chosen to offer specific items for sale, while others will have gift certificates. We’ve encouraged a lot of the business to be very focused on Mother’s Day, since that's right around the corner," said Nesbitt.

The featured non-profits for May Day are The Window, Goshen Community Arts, Art House, The Goshen Theater, Ten Thousand Villages, First Fridays, The Local, and the Goshen Historical Society.

"Local businesses and non-profits need our support now more than ever. And as a community, we need to find solidarity and hope together in these strange times. I think events like this allow us to do both," said Nesbitt.

Anyone that wants to buy from the businesses participating in the event, or just get more information, should visit Downtowngoshen.org.
