Goshen Schools add extra precautions after police learn of online threats Friday
GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen Police Department reports they learned of multiple threats made to the community and several community members on social media Friday.
The police are actively investigating the threats.
Goshen Schools have added extra precautions and police say there will be additional patrols in those areas.
Police say no further details will be released at this time so as not to jeopardize the investigation
GCS officials say the threats were not directed at any of the schools, but district leaders want to make sure that all students and staff members are secure.
School officials say there will be no outside recess or P.E. classes for the remainder of Friday afternoon. Inside, the schools will continue with classes as usual.
Goshen School Resource Officers will continue to work with the GPD and keep Goshen School administrators informed of any news that would change the “soft lockdown” status of the schools.
If there are updates, GCS will inform parents through ParentSquare.
Dismissals will continue as usual, with extra police at the schools.
