Goshen student arrested for alleged possession of knife, alcohol at school

GOSHEN, Ind. – A 12-year-old student was arrested on Tuesday after he was allegedly found in possession of alcohol and a knife while on school property, the Goshen Police Department reported.

At 11:46 a.m., Goshen Community Schools contacted Goshen Police in reference to a juvenile male that was allegedly in possession of alcohol and a knife on school property, reports said.

The incident occurred at Goshen Junior High, police said.

The items were discovered after the student self-reported to the nurses’ station feeling ill, and staff contacted the SRO regarding the smell of alcohol, reports said.

The juvenile was arrested and taken to the Elkhart Juvenile Detention Center.

DCS was also contacted and a report was completed.
