HAMMOND, Ind. -- An emergency declaration for the entire state of Indiana is potentially coming in the near future.

In a press conference addressing recent storm damage sustained in northern and northwest Indiana, Gov. Mike Braun said that the situation will likely lead to a statewide emergency declaration.

In a statement from his office, the governor says he has instructed the state department of homeland security to lead the storm response in coordination with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Transportation, and Indiana Department of Correction.

The governor says the state has also provided generators and an oxygen trailer to support. He also says he has instructed state emergency response teams to remain ready for changing conditions.
