Gov. Snyder tours wildfire damage in Upper Peninsula

LUCE CO., Mich. -- On Thursday, Gov. Rick Snyder and Sen. Debbie Stabenow toured the damage from the wildfire in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Lightning started the Duck Lake fire last week.

So far, it's burned nearly 22,000 acres and destroyed more than 130 buildings.

The weather has been very dry lately, which helped the wildfire to spread.

Gov. Snyder banned fireworks and outdoor burning in 49 counties until further notice.
