Gov. Whitmer receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday during an event at Ford Field.

Michigan’s Chief Medical Executive, Dr. Joneigh Khaldun administered Whitmer’s vaccination.

A group of teenagers, who are metro Detroit’s new COVID-19 vaccination student ambassadors, also received their shots during the event.

The event was held the day after the state of Michigan expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to include everyone over the age of 16.
