Gov. Whitmer strengthens enforcement of COVID-19 related orders

During a press conference Wednesday morning, Governor Gretchen Whitmer discussed her latest executive order that strengthens enforcement of COVID-19 related orders.

The governor said that enforcement is important to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The order urges state departments and agencies to prioritize enforcement of COVID-19 related laws at nursing homes, meat processing plants, agricultural housing, and any other location where the virus can spread quickly.

Whitmer says departments have to consider violations of law for determining license eligibility and if an establishment does not follow safety practices, their license could be suspended.
