Governor Holcomb appoints new Tippecanoe County judge

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced the appointment of Kristen E. McVey to the Tippecanoe County Superior Court 5 on Friday.

McVey will succeed Judge Sean Persin who recently took office as Circuit Court Judge on January 1st of this year.

Kristen McVey is currently the chief deputy prosecutor in Tippecanoe County.

She joined the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office in 2002 after attending law school.

McVey has served as the chief deputy of the county for the past 10 years and also served the same role in Carroll County between 2005 and 2007.

McVey attended Purdue University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree prior to attending Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.

Governor Holcomb has not announced when McVey will be sworn into office.
