INDIANA, -- Indiana Governor Mike Braun announces Tuesday the approval of a major disaster declaration by President Trump through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

This critical support will help Hoosiers recovering from historic storms and flooding. We’re grateful for this partnership as we work to rebuild, recover, and help communities get back on their feet.” — Governor Mike Braun

On August 20, Gov. Braun formally requested an expediated major disaster declaration. And on August 25, the Governor has announced that the declaration has been approved for individual assistance and public assistance for multiple counties throughout Indiana. 

The counties that are not included in individual or public assistance may still be eligible pending additional review and data collection. the expedited approval for the counties listed below means that millions of federal dollars will be available to assist in Hoosier communities' recovery efforts. 

Counties receiving individual assistance (assistance to individuals and households): 

Carroll, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Porter, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Tipton, Union, and Wayne Counties. 

Counties receiving public assistance (Assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities):

Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Porter, Tipton, and Wayne Counties.
