Governor Pence signs School Safety Bill to boost school security

Indiana schools will be able to step up their security with financial help from the state.

Governor Mike Pence signed the School Safety Bill into law Tuesday afternoon.

It creates a school security guard program. It defines specific training requirements for school resource officers.

A previous version required schools to have an armed employee on campus. That section was taken out last month.
