Governors stand by "pink slime"

Several governors from beef-producing states are speaking out in support of "pink slime."

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad organized the coalition of governors.  They plan to highlight jobs becoming endangered because some stores no longer sell beef that includes “pink slime.”

The governor of Kansas sounded off.

“This is an unmerited, unwarranted food scare,” said Gov. Sam Brownback. “This is a product that has been on the market for over 20 years.”

Folks in the meat industry say if consumers insist on eliminating the filler from ground beef, prices will certainly go up.
