ELKHART, Ind. -- Grand Design RV will be expanding from Middlebury to the RV capital of the world, Elkhart, with a new manufacturing facility.
Congresswoman Jackie Walorski attended Grand Design RV's expansion celebration event on Thursday.
“But, there’s just nothing like the RV industry. Expansions. With workers, and with production, you continue to shine. You continue to innovate. Your workers are the most well trained in the country for what you do here,” said Walorski.
Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson helped roll out the welcome wagon for Walorski and other prominent members of the community during Thursday's event, including President and CEO of Grand Design RV, Don Clark.
“At the completion of our growth initiative, Grand Design will have over two million square feet of manufacturing and support, all within Elkhart County,” said Clark.
Roberson hopes that the expansion will help keep the high rate of employment steady in Elkhart County, as well as ensure Elkhart’s status as one of the biggest manufacturing hubs in the state.
