Grand Rapids river in danger of more swelling

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Nearly four inches of rain fell in Grand Rapids Thursday causing the Grand River to swell.

The river went up to more than 18 feet Thursday night.

It's expected to crest Sunday.

If it reaches 24.7 feet, it would surpass the "Great Flood" of 1904.

Flood walls in the area are expected to keep much of that water out of downtown Grand Rapids.
