GRANGER, Ind. -- Granger Community Church is hosting a bed-building event in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, at the church’s Granger Campus.

With over 1,000 children in the Michiana area on a waiting list for a bed of their own, Granger Community Church, in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, is setting out to change that statistic.

Every bed built with volunteer help demonstrates the power of service and the potential that emerges when people come together with a shared purpose.

The bed building event takes place on Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers will pre-register and show up to be trained in the building of the hand-constructed beds.

The church will also be collecting donations of brand-new bedding and pillows, since each child that receives a bed, will also receive a set of new bedding to accompany it.
