ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks will host a Grief Walk on Oct. 13 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Ox Bow County Park.

The free walk is designed to give community members a quiet and supportive space to reflect and connect with others who have lost a loved one.

Participants can walk through the peaceful park at their own pace and stop at the reflection stations for as long as desired. Stations will include therapy dogs, Mobil Ofrenda, ashes of remembrance, and petal drops to help remember lost loved ones.

“Grief can be a difficult journey, and we hope this event provides an opportunity for people to reflect, remember, and know that they are not alone,” said James Holtzclaw, Interpretive Naturalist with Elkhart County Parks.

Event organizers remind attendees to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

The event is also hosted in partnership with Elkhart Public Library: Dunlap Branch, and Ryan's Place.
